How To Make An Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with Chill Pill Herbal Honey

This colorful layered latte is an ultra refreshing way to enjoy strawberry season. Instead of stirring the layers together, I really love to sip this latte through a straw, moving my straw up and down as I sip (like a psychopath), to fully experience the rich, earthiness of the matcha in contrast to the sweet strawberry milk.

Note: If you're a matcha purist, kindly look away. This recipe forgoes the traditional matcha-making techniques for ease, however, if you're equipped with a matcha bowl and whisk, by all means, whisk away.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 heaping teaspoon ceremonial-grade matcha
  • 3 tablespoons hot water (just under boiling)
  • 1 cup milk of choice, divided
  • 4-6 fresh, sweet strawberries, greens removed
  • 1-2 tablespoons Chill Pill Herbal Honey, to taste
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions:

  1. Make the Matcha: Sift matcha into your mug (or your matcha bowl, if using). Pour in 3 tablespoons hot water and use your milk frother (or matcha whisk) to mix until fully incorporated and smooth. Set aside.
  2. Make the Strawberry Milk: To your blender, add the strawberries, 1/2 cup milk, and Chill Pill Herbal Honey. Blend together until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Assemble: To your drinking glass, add the ice and remaining 1/2 cup milk to your drinking glass. Pour the prepared matcha over the milk and ice and give a quick stir. Top with the strawberry milk. Garnish with sliced strawberries if desired. Either gently swirl to incorporate the layers or sip as is and let the sweet-earthy contrast do its thing.
