An electuary is a nutritive and/or medicinal paste made from mixing powdered herbs and/or spices with honey. It’s a term that’s a bit archaic (& is thought to be derived from a Greek word meaning ‘to lick up’), so we use the term interchangeably with “herbal honey.”
Technicalities aside, we think it’s one of the more delicious ways to help the medicine go down! Instead of heat-infusing herbs into honey & then straining out the plant material, for maximum potency in each batch, we fresh-grind our own botanicals to a fine powder & then slowly stir them into a sweet-as-can-be raw & unpasteurized wildflower honey made by our very own local bees.
